Summer is finally here! Time for pool days, relaxing at the beach, and spending time outdoors. With all the fun activities summertime brings, it’s important to keep yourself and your family hydrated. Hydration is extremely important to your well-being and keeping you safe on the job, at the gym, and in your daily life. Here are some tips to help keep you hydrated:

Keep a bottle of water on your desk, in your bag, in your car, etc. Having water (or other hydrating beverages) with you everywhere you go can help keep you on track.

Drink water before you get thirsty. When you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated, so it’s important to drink at regular intervals (especially during strenuous exercise or when it’s hot outside).

Avoid drinks with high sugar content, such as soda and fruit juices, when performing any type of activity. Alcoholic and caffeinated drinks should be avoided as well.

Invest in a reusable water bottle. This will save you money on buying plastic water bottles. Plus, many gyms and offices have water coolers that you can fill up at!

Get creative with your water. Cut up your favorite fruit or berries to toss into your water. You can even make a big pitcher the night before and drink it throughout the following day.

Eat whole foods. Water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables can help keep you hydrated and can be a perfect summertime snack.
